Accounts second quarter 2005 - UK

The Superfos Group presents an unchanged turnover in the first six months of 2005 compared to 2004, as well as progress on new markets in Eastern Europe and the United States. However, the result has been affected by the high prices of raw material

  • Turnover constitutes 182.6 m€ (2004: 181.0 m€)
  • EBITDA constitutes 25.3 m€ (2004: 32.0 m€) corresponding to a decrease of 6.7 m€
  •  EBITA constitutes 10.0 m€ (2004: 17.5 m€)

CEO Kim Andersen accounts: “The high pricing of raw materials have had a significant impact on earnings in the first six months of 2005. In second quarter, the raw material prices stabilised and showed a week declining trend. However, the level is still high. Compared to the same period 2004 prices have increased by more than 30 %, and it has not been possible to fully compensate for the increases.

The status quo in turnover can mainly be contributed to the combination of increased sales in the industrial segment and receding sales on the British market.

Turnover in our US business continues to show a positive development that can be contributed to the capitalization on product as well as production synergies in relation to our European business.
